OECD Friends of Gender equality Plus discussed education from gender perspective, 16 January 2020
The OECD Friends of Gender Equality Plus met on January 16 2020 and discussed education from the gender perspective, covering the recent 2018 PISA results and national initiatives to increase gender equity, incl. in STEM education. PISA 2018 results indicate above average results of Slovenian youth, nevertheless there is a gender gap.
Ambassador Irena Sodin shared a message regarding the importance of ensuring inclusive, equitable and quality education, which aids in closing the gender gap and highlighted the Slovenian experiences of girls in STEM education. She concluded by saying "If you persevere, you can follow your dreams and be successful".
