Slovenia is deepening cooperation with the OECD in the area of artificial intelligence, 8 April 2019
State Secretaries Mr. Dobran Božič from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Mr. Gregor Strojin from the Ministry of Justice met with the OECD Deputy Secretary General Mr. Ulrik Vestegaard Knudsen. They discussed deepening of Slovenia's cooperation with the OECD in the area of artificial intelligence.
Slovenia is one of the principal supporters of the OECD activities in this field and actively participated in preparing the OECD Recommendation on artificial intelligence, to be adopted at the Ministerial OECD Council meeting in May 2019. Slovenia also supports the launch of the OECD Observatory on artificial intelligence envisaged by the end of 2019.
The two State Secretaries also met Director for Employment, Labour and Social Affairs Mr. Stefano Scarpetta and discussed the opportunities for cooperation with the Institute Jožef Stefan in furthering the analysis on the future of work.
In the margins of the meetings, the Memorandum of Understanding for Cooperative Activities in the field of the Artificial Intelligence between the Jožef Stefan Institute and the OECD was signed. The Memorandum focuses on three key mainstreams that among others include the feed in with live AI policy news from the Event Registry, live AI related jobs and skills data and live data on AI related research.
