Minister Mitja Gaspari at Symposium on »The Public Sector on the move: adjusting, upgrading and innovating”
On Tuesday 8 November 2011 a Symposium on »The Public Sector on the move: adjusting, upgrading and innovating” took place within the session of the Public Governance Committee. The Symposium was introduced by Secretary General of the OECD, Angel Gurria. In his introductory speech he emphasized the importance attributed in G20 discussions to transparent and efficient public governance. He underlined the link between the efficiency and the investment in public administration infrastructure. Three countries presented their experience in ameliorating the efficiency of public governance during the Symposium: France, Mexico and Slovenia. Challenges of public governance in Slovenia have been presented by the Minister for Development and European Affairs, Mr. Mitja Gaspari. They are based on preliminary findings from public governance review in Slovenia by the OECD. The final report from that review is expected in February 2012. In the follow up to the Symposium, members of the Committee discussed public governance response to the 2011 MCM Ministerial Mandate for an OECD Strategy on Development, Rule of law and good public governance issues, as well as some Committee management issues. Attached is the presentation of Minister Mitja Gaspari.
